Getting to Shanghai — Airport Information

Shanghai is served by two major international airports, both offering convenient connections to the city center.

Pudong International Airport (PVG)

Located approximately 45 km east of the city center, Shanghai Pudong International Airport is Shanghai's primary hub for long-haul and international flights. It is one of the busiest airports in Asia, handling major carriers from across the globe. Delegates arriving at PVG may reach the city center via the Maglev train (reaching speeds of up to 430 km/h, with a journey time of approximately 8 minutes to Longyang Road Station), metro Line 2, taxi, or airport shuttle bus. Travel time to central Shanghai is approximately 40–60 minutes depending on traffic.

Hongqiao International Airport (SHA)

Situated about 13 km west of the city center, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport primarily handles domestic routes and select short-haul international flights to neighboring countries and regions. It is directly connected to the Hongqiao Railway Station, making it an ideal gateway for delegates traveling by high-speed rail from other Chinese cities. The airport is accessible via metro Lines 2 and 10, taxi, and shuttle bus, with a travel time of approximately 20–30 minutes to the city center.
